About the role: The Associate Product Owner (PO) has overall accountability for managing the product backlog to ensure the maximum business value is delivered each sprint. The PO works closely with the Product Manager and is responsible for introducing and managing Epics / Stories / Defects within the team’s backlog, decomposing requirements, and defining a definition of success that represents the vision of the product. The product owner is a member of the development team, actively participates in sprints, and is consistently available to team members for questions, clarity, and understanding. The position requires active grooming and prioritization of the product backlog, with the PO empowered to own decisions for their backlog. The PO is responsible for any supporting product design (ie. diagrams, vision boards) and launch documentation (i.e. training, release notes) for all shippable products. What you’ll do here: · Satisfy all the functions of the Associate Product Owner role. · Follow Product Management Lifecycle (PML) standards to execute primarily on roadmap initiatives for new products, product migrations, and product sunsets. · Collaborates with Product Management on the definition of the Product Vision, Strategy and Roadmap. · Works closely with clients, partners, business units, Product, and Engineering to elicit requirements. · Owns (creates, maintains, and prioritizes) the product backlog, balancing conflicting priorities. · Analyzes and validates functional and nonfunctional requirements for Product value. · Actively participates in technical design discussions with Engineering when defining product initiatives. · Creates and maintains supporting product design documentation as necessary, including diagrams (user workflows, DFDs, process swim lanes, etc.), mock-ups, vision boards, and implementation plans. · Ensures user stories are ready for development, including clear business value and acceptance criteria. · Actively participates in all Agile ceremonies (Grooming, Sprint Planning, Sprint Review, etc.). · Creates product release notes and provides user training for deployed product features. · Continually learns and deepens knowledge of our system, product features, and user experiences. · Influences a positive, united team culture to achieve success within the Product and Engineering team. About you: · BA/BS in Business, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent specific industry experience. · 1-3 years Product Management or equivalent work experience · Familiar with Agile methodologies (Flow Framework, Scrum, Kanban, and/or SAFe). · Enjoy working in a team-oriented culture and able to work in a dynamic, fast-paced work environment. · Results-oriented with a demonstrated sense of urgency and the ability to assess situations and make clear, data-driven decisions. · Excellent internal / client-facing written and verbal communication skills. · Strong organizational and task management skills, including attention to detail and multitasking skills. · Experience documenting business processes, operational workflows, and system functionality. · Demonstrated ability to identify product feature gaps and suggest product improvements. · History of assessing and solving problem situations, gathering information and identifying causes, generating solutions, and making recommendations/decisions to resolve the problem. · Successful track record fostering teamwork and positively influencing technical and non-technical stakeholders to achieve organizational or project goals. Bonus points if you: · Product Management certifications a plus (i.e. CSPO, CSM, PMI-ACP, PMC I-IX). · Experience with property management and/or payment processing or resident billing preferred. · Client/Partner-facing requirement gathering and training experience a plus. · Experience with diagraming tools (MS Visio, LucidChart, etc.), spreadsheets (MS Excel, Google Sheets, etc.), G-Suite applications, Atlassian tools, Slack, and Trello preferred. The US base salary for this full-time position is $78 - $86k + benefits. Individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
