About the Team About the Team If you enjoy the autonomy and agility of an innovative small team while benefiting from the stability of a large corporation and you have a passion for building scalable applications in collaboration with designers and other specialists, we are looking for you! As part of the Lodestar Application team at Workday, you’ll be an integral member of a multi-functional team in an agile environment. You will collaborate with other engineers, designers, QAs, and the team’s product manager to deliver exciting and impactful features for customers. You will broaden your technical skills through regular review and discussion of code and use your technical expertise to build an outstanding product. About the Role Our team values innovation, collaboration, and ownership. You will design and implement features and components in a team oriented environment. You will collaborate with product management to break down high-level product vision into manageable pieces for development. Development work will primarily be in Typescript / React making GraphQL queries and applying Workday’s existing web infrastructure. You will also actively participate in knowledge sharing via mentoring, code reviews, building design documents, and/or giving technical talks. We are a geographically distributed organization with a focus on a presence in San Francisco, CA and Boulder, CO; we organize teams around these geographies but ultimately collaboration with engineers and architects across the world. About You Basic Qualifications (Senior Software Engineer): 8+ years experience with software development 5+ years of experience in programming applying one or more of the following: Java, JavaScript, C# Experience architecting and engineering front end applications for scale Experience with Typescript and the underpinnings of Javascript Basic Qualifications (Software Engineer III): 5+ years professional software development experience 3+ years of developing using Java or GraphQL 3+ years of experience applying databases, such as Oracle or Postgres Experience with any web technologies such as React, TypeScript, HTML/CSS, RESTful APIs and web services Other Qualifications: Experience with architecting, building and deploying to public cloud offerings (e.g., AWS, GCS, Azure) Comfort with modern CSS feature such as Grid and Custom properties Ability to work in a self directed fashion, and ability to discern the most important work to prioritize You are comfortable working alongside our product organization to clarify and prune requirements, delivering value incrementally and frequently You have the ability to balance priorities and make the right tradeoffs in feature content and timely delivery of features, while ensuring customer success and technology leadership for the company Excellent verbal and written communication skills A passion for innovation and ability to contribute to shaping the technical and product roadmaps Experience in a fast-paced work environment Our Approach to Flexible Work With Flex Work, we’re combining the best of both worlds: in-person time and remote. As a part of the total compensation package, this role may be eligible for the Workday Bonus Plan or a role-specific commission/bonus, as well as annual refresh stock grants.
