Job Overview: The Technical Product Manager (TPM) is responsible for defining and managing the roadmap for Learning A-Z products in partnership with the business Product Manager (BPM) who establishes the vision for making each product an essential classroom resource that drives impact for teachers and students. The TPM and the business Product Manager collaborate to set the product requirements that will deliver on that vision, then the TPM works with a cross-functional development team to communicate those requirements and lead the team through the solution-design process toward the desired outcomes. They anticipate bottlenecks, provide escalation management, and build consensus by understanding stakeholder requirements and constraints. Their leadership skills and deep understanding of the technical product development process play a critical role in developing products that align with our mission and have a meaningful and lasting effect on educators and learners. In addition, Technical Product Managers are expected to spend a portion of their time studying the market factors that impact the product, such as policy, legislation, funding, academic research, and the competitive landscape. Job Responsibilities: Provide consultation to the business Product Manager as they develop a vision for the product, ensuring it is feasible, desirable, and viable. Act as the lead of the cross-functional development team, providing stewardship of the product vision during the team’s day-to-day work. Partner with the business Product Manager to create and manage the product roadmap based on the product vision, including the scope and timeline for the deliverables. Maintain close contact with the market to continually deepen understanding of product-market fit. Maintain close contact with engineering, ux, and design teams to continually deepen understanding of technical constraints and opportunities that can impact the product. Continually assess risks and make prioritization decisions about scope, schedule, and resources that align with the product goals. Collaborate with the scrum master to ensure that the team is aligned about timelines and task prioritization. Job Requirements: A degree or equivalent training in general business, an aspect software development, or related field 3+ years of relevant experience in Technical Product Management, including a deep understanding of the Agile development process The ability to act as a team lead, balancing the need for collecting recommendations and building consensus with the need for providing authoritative decision making The ability to communicate clearly and ensure all stakeholders understand the vision for a project and their roles and responsibilities within it A deep understanding of the product life cycle, from concept through release, including the value of ongoing maintenance and enhancements The ability to analyze quantitative and qualitative data and incorporate it into decision making Why Work With Us?
